4Projects and BIW Technologies to launch NEC3 Contract Management Software
NEC has licensed two content partners to enable users to make the most of its NEC3 suite of contracts through bespoke contract management software.
4Projects’ NEC3 Manager and BIW Technologies’ NEC3 Contracts Management applications will allow users to more efficiently and transparently manage key NEC3 processes and communications such as Early Warning notices, Compensation Events and the Risk Register.
Rekha Thawrani, General Manager of NEC comments: “A key objective of NEC3 contracts is to encourage the parties involved to operate together to create a working relationship which will ultimately provide efficiency and a successful outcome.
“BIW Technologies and 4Projects have developed software that supports the control of time, cost and quality on projects and it is hoped that users of NEC3 Manager and NEC3 Contracts Management will be able to collaborate more effectively on projects using NEC3 to save time and drive down costs.”
Richard Vertigan, Chief Executive of 4Projects comments: “Having worked closely with the construction industry for the last 22 years I have seen the problems that can arise from contracts being disputed and ultimately unfulfilled.
“Although clients have used our management process in conjunction with NEC contracts for many years, we have now developed a tool that allows users to deploy, monitor and control contracts in a more efficient and effective way.”
Colin Smith, BIW’s Chief Executive adds: “A number of years ago we identified a requirement to provide a robust application designed specifically to help companies effectively implement the NEC3 contract. We have had great success with the initiative and have deployed our NEC3 Contract Management application on projects for over 50 clients.“
We are obviously delighted to have been selected as one of NEC’s preferred licence content partners. The enhancements we will roll out as a result of the partnership will greatly benefit current and future clients.”
NEC contracts are designed to promote best practice and are used worldwide. NEC3 contracts are the only standard form contracts to be recommended by the Government’s Construction Clients’ Board for use on public sector construction projects.
