The course includes

    This one-day course focuses on the provisions of the NEC3 Supply Short Contract (SSC).

    The SSC is intended for the purchase of goods that do not require sophisticated management techniques, and impose only low risks on both the Purchaser and the Supplier. The delegates will gain an understanding of the key pre- and post-contract aspects of SSC and will appreciate where, when and how to effectively use this simple form of contract.

    Objectives

      At the end of the course participants should:

    • Understand the philosophy of NEC
    • Be able to prepare tender documents and appraise tenders received
    • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the key parties
    • Understand how to apply SSC in practice and achieve satisfactory solutions
    • Understand important SSC clauses in particular early warning, communications, compensation events and batch orders.

    This course is highly recommended for purchasers, procurement managers, supply managers and all those involved in the procurement of low risk and value goods.
