The NEC Users' Group consists of over four hundred member organisations representing clients, consultants, designers, project managers or contractors, the aims and objectives of the group are:
- to hold regular forums to bring NEC users together to exchange information and experience on the use of NEC
- to provide regular newsletter advising of NEC developments and through which members can communicate information on their usage of NEC
- to provide a helpline facility to answer members' questions
- to provide free or discounted access for members to a range of NEC products and services
- to act as a conduit whereby the views of members can be passed to the NEC Panel and vice versa
- to provide presentations on NEC for new or prospective users and consultancy services for existing users
- to receive feedback from its members on their experience of using NEC to enable continuous improvements to be made to the suite of documents
- to promote wherever possible the wider use of NEC

The group is led by the Chairmanship of Professor Rudi Klein, who is also chairman of the Specialist Engineering Contractors Group and a long standing NEC expert. in his role as chairman Rudi will:
- represent users in appropriate forums
- chair formal NEC Users' Group seminars and workshops
- act as a liaison point between the Users' Group, the NEC Panel and NEC publisher Thomas Telford on issues as they affect Users' Group members and the general development of NEC
- promote wherever possible the wider use of NEC
Secretary to the group is Robert Gerrard, NEC Consultant. In his role as secretary Robert will:

support or act on behalf of the Users' Group chairman in all activities

respond to queries from the technical helpline

contribute FAQ's to the newsletter
