The Brynglas Tunnels carry the M4 motorway under Brynglas Hill in Newport, south Wales. Completed in 1967, the 370 m long, twin two-lane tunnels are the first and only bored tunnels on the British motorway network. A major NEC-procured refurbishment of the tunnels and adjacent bridge structures is currently underway to improve resilience for the foreseeable future.

Network Rail had to shut its coastal railway between Dover and Folkestone on 24 December 2015 after a violent storm damaged a supporting sea wall, causing 250 m of track to collapse. A £36 million, NEC-procured project enabled the line to re-open on 5 September 2016, three months ahead of a challenging fast-track schedule.

Southern Regional College in Northern Ireland is delivering three new state-of-the-art campuses between 2018 and 2022 using NEC contracts. The College won the NEC Client of the Year in 2018 for its innovative use of the contracts to deliver a wide range of curriculum innovations and digital assets in addition to the physical buildings.
