First PMA in South Africa

South Africa’s first NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contact (ECC) Project Manager Accreditation programme was successfully delivered in February.

A total of 11 NEC project managers attended the four-day classroom session at The South African Institution of Civil Engineering’s headquarters in Midrand, Johannesburg. They represented a good mix of contractors, quantity surveyors and project management consultancies and were from various parts of the country.

The programme tutor was Andrew Baird, whose construction consultancy ECS Associates is one of two organisations contracted to deliver NEC accreditation programmes in South Africa. He says delegates on the course especially appreciated the emphasis given to ECC planning requirements, which were highlighted through various scenario-planning options via Primavera forensic analysis.

The next NEC3 ECC Project Manager Accreditation course will be held by Pangea Professional Services in Saunton, Johannesburg on 14−17 May 2019.
