New Zealand clients start using NEC4
The Arts Centre in Christchurch, a collection of 23 heritage buildings held in public trust, is currently undergoing a seven-year, NZ$290 million (£150 million) post-earthquake restoration programme. Project manager RCP is intending to use NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts for the second stage, with contracts due to be let early this year. Programme completion is due in 2021.
There also seems to be greater take up of NEC3 contracts by existing users in New Zealand and a positive engagement with the market, with New Plymouth District Council leading the way.
