Katrien Van Rompay is Lantis’ contract manager for the Oosterweel Program. Katrien is a civil engineer with a background in infrastructure project management and international development.
Katrien started working at Lantis beginning of 2018 as the contract manager for the Right Bank project as part of the Oosterweel program. She has been introducing NEC in the Belgian Infrastructure market since September 2018, where she coordinates stakeholders from the sector on both Client and Contractors’ side to develop a standardised Flemish contract based on the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract.
Katrien is involving parties on all sides to introduce the key concepts of mutual trust and collaboration in the Flemish construction sector, where a culture of claims and conflict is still standing strong. These changes within the sector are highly needed in order to realize a program with such high complexity as Oosterweel.
Prior to Lantis she worked for one of Belgian’s largest engineering offices as a project manager for infrastructure projects. She has been working for the Belgian development agency in infrastructure projects worldwide, mainly in Africa, where collaboration with governments, contractors and clients is a must to make projects work.
