Juha Kostiainen holds the position of EVP Urban Development and ESG in YIT Corporation and he is a member of Group’s Management Committee. YIT is a major construction and development company, operating in Finland, Baltics and Eastern Central Europe. YIT is listed in Helsinki Stock Exchange.

Addition to the 20 years of career at YIT in different executive positions, Kostiainen worked for Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. There he held several executive positions related to energy efficiency in built environment, public leadership, communications and public affairs. He has also worked for the city of Tampere as a Director, Economic Development.

Juha Kostiainen completed a doctoral thesis in Regional Studies at the Tampere University. He has published several articles on regional economic development policy, competitiveness of city-regions and area development (housing etc.), also in refereed academic journals. Kostiainen holds a position of Adjunct Professor in the University of Tampere (strategic development of city-regions).

Peter is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. In 2000 he established pdConsult, a consultancy organisation to provide strategic advice, contract procurement, contract management and dispute resolution services to the construction industry.

Before this, Peter was responsible for the worldwide civil engineering work of a major UK consultancy. He has a background in civil engineering, building and landscape with experience on a wide range of engineering projects in the UK, Africa, and in the Middle and Far East.

Since 1995 Peter has led the NEC drafting panels set up by the ICE to prepare the NEC forms of contract and guidance, and now chairs the NEC4 Contract Board.
