New Year's Resolutions For Every Project Manager

As we wave goodbye to the festive season and the guilt of mass food consumption sinks in, here at NEC we are welcoming 2020 with open arms. A new year means New Year’s Resolutions, and here is our list of resolutions every Project Manager should adopt throughout 2020!

1. Brush up on your NEC contract knowledge
Attend one of training courses, delivered by NEC experts who have an in-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and their implementation across the industry. Course formats include classroom, online and in-house to suit the learning and development preferences of our UK and international users. View our January and February timetable below.

2. Grow your network
Attend one of our upcoming Users’ Group events and connect with like-minded Project Managers. During 2019, NEC welcomed over 600 attendees to both User Group Conferences within the UK and Hong Kong. The User Group events are a brilliant way to enhance learning, keep up with the industries latest movements and network with colleagues.

During March, NEC is also hosting a 'Meet the Drafters Workshop' in Bristol, enabling attendees to submit any urgent questions to the NEC4 drafting team.

3. Expand your skill-set and attract more career opportunities
Read our ‘A day in the life’ series to find out how your peers have used their NEC Accredited Project Manager status to demonstrate their skill set and enhance their career.

Whether you are compiling or bidding for an NEC contract, it is essential to get the starting point right. NEC offers advice and support to help you in securing high-quality, additional conditions of contract to benefit all parties.

The Role of the Project Manager’ book provides a practical ‘how to’ guide on the key roles within the NEC4 suite of contracts. Additionally, ' The Role of the Service Manager' released in December, offers useful guidance and practical tips needed to fulfill the role successfully.
