The NEC-procured Cheung Chau submarine pipeline between Lantau and Cheung Chau islands is one of the largest and most challenging trenchless pipeline works ever undertaken in Hong Kong. The 1.4 km long, 500 mm diameter water main was installed by horizontal directional drilling up to 100 m below sea level in granite bedrock.

Christchurch City Council used NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) option A (priced contract with activity schedule) to manage a project to strengthen the underlying ground and then re-level the structure after the earthquakes.

Christchurch Town Hall conservation project, New Zealand

Christchurch Town Hall of the Performing Arts in South Island, New Zealand opened in 1972 providing a 2500 seat auditorium, 1000 seat theatre, four conference rooms and a restaurant. The iconic grade 1 listed heritage building is currently undergoing a major NEC-procured restoration following extensive earthquake damage suffered in 2011.
