NEC Digital enables users to draft and tender NEC contracts online

NEC Contracts launched NEC Digital this month (November 2025), an intuitive online contract drafting and tendering platform. It will transform how NEC users work with the internationally recognised NEC suite of contracts.

NEC Digital is a new subscription-based service that allows clients and their advisers to select main and secondary options and fill out contract data part one when drafting an NEC4 contract for tender. Dispute options (W1–W3) can be automatically selected along with Z clauses from a personalised library.

Guidance for drafters and bidders

The NEC Digital interface provides a side-by-side view of options and relevant clauses to make contract navigation intuitive and efficient, while contextual drafting guidance ensures informed decision making throughout the process.

A key feature is an intelligent clause compatibility checker, which prevents selection of incompatible clauses during drafting. This is designed to reduce errors that may lead to potential disputes.

When the contract is ready for tendering, bidders can securely access it online through a simple link. The platform gives bidders the same interactive guidance to ensure high quality submissions, including correct completion of contract data part two.

Transparent and intuitive approach

NEC Contracts global director Rekha Thawrani, OBE says, ‘With the industry evolving rapidly and facing multiple challenges, paper-based contract drafting and tendering processes are no longer sufficient for today’s complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

‘NEC Digital transforms the contracting process and brings the NEC suite into the digital age with an efficient, transparent and intuitive approach, offering users the confidence and assurance of the highest quality contract outcomes.’
