The official Simplified Chinese translation of the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) Hong Kong Edition (based on the NEC4 ECC) has been produced by NEC with the Hong Kong Development Bureau and Qianhai Authority, to support adoption across Mainland China.

This maintains NEC best practice project management ethos and principles, with collaborative sharing of risk and reward at the heart of modern procurement, and a continued commitment to championing collaborative contracting.

The three key objectives in producing the Simplified Chinese translation of the NEC ECC HK Edition are to:

• Increase NEC’s accessibility across Mainland China
• Provide consistency in document preparation for public/private works contracts
• Inspire increased confidence in the use of NEC in Mainland China so others benefit from better project delivery

NEC has long been recognised for stimulating good management and supporting new approaches to procurement, and the Simplified Chinese translation of the NEC ECC Hong Kong Edition continues that approach. By promoting collaborative working across both public and private sectors, this edition will set a benchmark for best practice procurement in Mainland China.
