This course provides a practical introduction to how the NEC4 ECC works in real projects, focusing on key contract processes and roles. Building on the foundations of NEC philosophy and structure, it offers learners hands-on insight into how the ECC operates on a day-to-day basis. 

Through scenario-based discussions and simplified walkthroughs, participants will explore core ECC processes such as early warning, programme management, communications, and payment. The course also demystifies essential contract documents, roles, and common terminology, setting a solid base for those looking to progress to practitioner-level learning. 

 

This course starts at 09:00 and finishes at 17:00 with refreshment breaks mid-morning and afternoon, plus lunch. It provides 6 Hours formal CPD. 

All timings, except the start time, are approximate and may be adjusted to suit natural breaks in the sessions.

  • Understand the role of key supporting documents and ownership of materials 
  • Identify the main responsibilities relating to risk, insurance and termination 
  • Build confidence to engage with ECC and progress to Level 2 training
