Setting up Multi Multi-Factor Authentication using an Authenticator App.

Step 1: Download an Authenticator App

Before you begin, ensure you have an authenticator app installed on your smartphone. We recommend:

  • Google Authenticator (available from iOS/Android app stores).
  • Microsoft Authenticator (available from iOS/Android app stores).

Step 2: Log In or Register and Start Setup

  1. If you’re already registered to use our website, log in to our website with your usually username and password (Skip the next step).
  2. If you’re registering for the first time, click sign-in/register, then click sign-up.
    • Enter your email address and set a password.
    • You will be sent a verification email. Click the link in the email.
  3. You will then see a screen prompting you to set up Multi-Factor Authentication.
  4. When presented with options, select Authenticator App.

Step 3: Scan the QR Code

  1. Open the authenticator app on your phone.
  2. Tap the (+) or Add Account button.
  3. Select Scan a QR code.
  4. Point your phone’s camera at the square QR code shown on your computer screen.

Can't scan the code? Click the link that says, "Trouble scanning?" or "Enter code manually" on the screen. Type the long code provided into your app to link them manually.

Step 4: Verify the Connection

  1. Once scanned, your app will show a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
  2. Enter this 6-digit code into the field on your computer screen.
  3. Click Continue or Verify.

Logging In After Setup

From now on, logging in will be a two-step process:

  1. Enter Password: Enter your username and password as usual.
  2. Enter Code: You will be asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

Tip: "Remember Me" for 30 Days On the code entry screen, you will see a checkbox labelled "Remember this browser for 30 days".

  • If you check this box: You won't be asked for a code again on this specific device and browser for one month.
  • If you leave it unchecked: You will need to enter a code every time you log in.

Note: Only check this box on private devices (like your personal computer or phone). Never use this feature on public or shared computers.

Troubleshooting

  • Code not working? Codes expire every 30 seconds. Wait for a new code to generate and try again immediately.
  • Android Users: If the code is still rejected, go to the Google Authenticator app settings > Time correction for codes > Sync now.
  • If you lose access to your authenticator app, please contact support@neccontract.com.
