NEC announces local Australia Representative

NEC is delighted to announce that Steven Evans is now our Representative in Australia. We will be working with him to identify the specific needs of our users in Australia and how we can support them to effectively deliver their projects.

Steven is an accomplished professional with 30 years’ experience in the construction and engineering sectors gained initially as a quantity surveyor for a major multinational contractor, and thereafter in senior quantity surveying and commercial management positions.

Since 2003, he has specialised in construction law and now combines his extensive practical experience with legal qualifications to provide high quality, realistic and cost-effective dispute avoidance, dispute resolution, commercial management and training services to a variety of clients nationally and internationally to help achieve their goals of effective, efficient and collaborative construction.

Steven has worked with NEC since 2013 as one of our tutors and, following his move from the UK, is now appointed as NEC’s representative in Australia.
Steven says, “In this role I hope to build on the initial interest in the NEC suite of contracts and encourage their widespread adoption on construction and engineering projects to help achieve the government’s commitment to the industry to improve procurement and encourage collaborative working relationships”

Steven will be working with stakeholders in both the public and private sectors, including current and potential users of NEC in Australia. Through this work we hope that the success and uptake of the NEC form of contract in Australia continues to grow and support the collaborative procurement agenda.
