NEC in collaboration with Hong Kong’s Development Bureau (DevB) will host the NEC Asia Pacific Conference 2025 in Hong Kong. Government leaders, global experts and industry pioneers will discuss how NEC-inspired collaboration, innovation and resilience can transform infrastructure outcomes across the region.
The event follows NEC’s official launch in Singapore last month and new NEC-related software solutions in Hong Kong.
New approaches to delivery
The conference promises a dynamic line up of case studies and practical sessions, examining how NEC’s principles are actively shaping new approaches to delivery. Topics will span public-private partnerships and performance-based contracting, digitally enabled oversight, predictive delivery models and announcements on NEC’s continued global adoption.
Attendees will engage with transformative technologies, from artificial-intelligence (AI) powered supervision systems and digital safety platforms to community-driven design. They will also gain access to tools and leadership insights that demonstrate how infrastructure is evolving in real time across the Asia Pacific.
NEC launches in Singapore
In August 2025 NEC and the British High Commission Singapore held a launch event to celebrate NEC’s expanding presence in southeast Asia and to underscore Singapore’s proactive leadership in embracing collaborative contracting.
British High Commissioner Nikesh Mehta, Building and Construction Authority (BCA) deputy head Teck Thai Heng and NEC Asia Pacific head Renee Paik hosted the event, at which trialing agencies shared their first-hand experiences of NEC’s beneficial impacts. NEC-related solutions in HK
Meanwhile Hong Kong continues to push the boundaries of infrastructure innovation. DevB deputy secretary Tony Ho, who won the Distinguished Contribution Award in the 2025 NEC Martin Barnes Awards, has recently showcased two groundbreaking NEC-related software solutions.
The first, SmartEye, is an innovative site management system that marries a patented four-dimensional lidar technology and generative AI. It is already revolutionising how NEC public works sites in Hong Kong are monitored digitally, allowing for a scalable and versatile all-weather, real-time remote supervision.
The second, Wise, is an AI-assisted payment system to facilitate administration of NEC target cost contracts. It offers greater transparency, integrity and efficiency in financial processes across NEC public works projects in Hong Kong. We are currently working with Tony to feature both these innovations in an upcoming newsletter article.
