The NEC4 Facilities Management Contract (FMC) is the third and latest NEC Contract to be translated into Spanish for Peru and the rest of Latin America, and was released in November. Official translations of the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC) were released in March and August last year respectively. The NEC4 Facilities Management Contract (FMC) - in LatAm Spanish, Contrato de Gestión de Instalaciones - is used by a Client to appoint a provider to manage and deliver any type of facilities management services, and has been translated alongside the User Guides for Preparing an FMC and Managing an FMC.
The NEC4 FMC was published in 2019 in collaboration with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) to address the specific needs of the facilities management sector, helping to identify best practice and establish the way forward.
The Peruvian Government first used NEC Contracts that same year for the Pan American Games and since then, it is estimated that NEC has been used to facilitate more than $9billion worth of public projects in the region.
The NEC4: Contrato de Gestión de Instalaciones Contract and User Guide Bundle is available to purchase in both a Digital Library format and a print format.
NEC has also launched a new three-level learning pathway for users in Peru. The levels are split between ‘Level 1 Training Foundational Level’, ‘Level 2 Training Practitioner Level’ and ‘Level 3 Training Accreditation Level’.
NEC Head of Learning Solutions, Crystal Fan said, ‘The pathway is not just about courses and exams, it is about supporting people. Many professionals in Peru are new to NEC, and a clear way to build confidence step by step is desired.
‘That is why the pathway starts with foundation training and moves into more practical courses, giving professionals the chance and time needed to grow their skills and apply them in real projects.’
